Reason

Received an email via the Able Company website tonight.

This, right here, is why I do this. There is no other reason.

Thank for sharing family, friends, and history.

I too was a history buff as a youth, wars more precisely, every book, any book held me spellbound, and if it was a series of battles, the Civil War, WWI, WWI, Korea, so much the better. Then Vietnam was on the horizon, and as the storm clouds closed in, high school seemed boring, draft dodgers treasonous, therefore it became incumbent on me to do my part. I enlisted at 18, turned 19 in the hospital after being wounded on Hamburger Hill in May of 1969. My unit, B Co. 3/187th Infantry.

Knowing the sacrifices these kids/men made, knowing the internalizing after surviving a war, thanks for telling their stories, and in the process, expressing your love for those that go above and beyond~
